Research your ancestry and historical events through the Local History and Genealogy Collection at the Concord branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library or through our online resources
The Lore Room contains materials on Cabarrus County History and Genealogy dating back to 1750 and limited sources for Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union counties. Most of the genealogical notes and records in book, microfilm and folder form.
Records include deeds, wills, court minutes, marriage records, tax lists, estate papers and County censuses. Records from the “Daily Independent,” “The Concord Tribune” and “The Independent Tribune” are also available.
The Lore Files, collected and compiled by Adelaide and Eugenia Lore, include many area church and family Bible records, and extensive cemetery readings.
Beginning September 4, 2018, the Lore Room will be open on the following schedule:
Monday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Tuesday - Wednesday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
