Active Living and Parks Commission

The Active Living and Parks Commission serves as the advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners.  They are also a liaison between:

• The Active Living and Parks Department
• The Senior Centers Advisory Council
• Cabarrus County citizens

The Commission advises on the following matters related to the Active Living and Parks department and Senior Centers:

• Policy
• Programming
• Staffing
• Finance

The 11-member Commission has representatives from the following areas:

• Concord
• Eastern
• Senior Centers Advisory Committee
• Central
• Cabarrus County School Board
• Kannapolis
• Kannapolis City School Board
• Midland,
• Northwest
• Harrisburg
• At-Large Representatives

Appointments are for three-year terms.
