EMS Special Operations

Special Operations refers to a specialized branch within the emergency medical services that deals with complex, high-risk, or large-scale emergencies that go beyond the scope of traditional EMS capabilities. These operations require specialized training, equipment, and coordination.

Track Medics

A specialized team of paramedics undergo extensive training on motorsports accident response. They provide coverage to drivers during racing events. These events occur at Charlotte Motor Speedway and zMax Drag Strip.

Tactical EMS

Cabarrus EMS provides tactical emergency medical specialists for the three tactical law enforcement teams in Cabarrus County. This service provides early advanced care to team members, civilians and suspects. Each tactical specialist receives training through CONTOMS, TEMS or equivalent programs. Team members train regularly and remain in a state of readiness to support the law enforcement agencies within Cabarrus County.

Cabarrus EMS assigns paramedics to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad. Members respond to hazmat, terrorist and explosive events.

SAR Medics

Cabarrus EMS provides paramedics for the County Search and Rescue team.

ATV Medics

Cabarrus EMS provides paramedics on ATVs for special, remote operations.
