Fire Services Frequently Asked Questions

A list of the most frequently asked questions about fire related items in Cabarrus County.  Please contact our office at 704-920-2143 or email jathompson@cabarruscounty.us if you don't see the answer to your question here.

The most accurate way is to check your tax bill.  You live in the district of the fire department you pay tax to.  If you are served by a municipal fire department you will see the name of that city listed, but no fire department. You may also be able to find this information out through the County GIS program by entering your address in the search bar and checking the fire district listed in the property data.

The best way to become a volunteer firefighter is to contact your local fire department.  They can assist you with getting the training you will need to start your volunteer career.  If you have questions about which department to contact please call or email our office and we will help you make those connections.

 

Residents of unincorporated Cabarrus County are allowed to open burn as long as the North Carolina State Forest Service and Cabarrus County regulations are followed. When burn bans are in effect, it will be posted on the county website and social media accounts.

Yes.  All residents of Cabarrus County are required to register any alarm systems that contact 911 dispatch. Residents of the City of Concord and City of Kannapolis will need to register their systems with those municipalities.
