Employee Health Center

Charlotte Business Journal acknowledges employers for their Healthiest Employee  Award. Cabarrus County was one of the employers recognized.

The County offers a comprehensive Wellness Program. One of the highlights is the Employee Health and Wellness Center (clinic). The Center offers services to all County employees eligible for health insurance. Also enrolled in the County's self-funded insurance plan are retirees, spouses and dependents. These individuals may also utilize health care services.

The Center provides a basic level of routine primary care and health screenings. The Employee Health and Wellness Center is:

• a convenient, low cost access point for basic medical care
• not intended to replace an individual’s primary care physician

Employee Health and Wellness Center staff include:

• a licensed nurse practitioner
• two medical office assistants
• a health coach

The staff has direct oversight by a licensed physician. This is established through a contract with Atrium Health Employer Solutions.

The Center provides convenient, reliable and cost-effective health services for care related to:

• Sick Visits (cold, flu, ear and sinus infections)
• Prescriptions for Medications
• Administer Injectable Medicines (such as allergy and testosterone)
• Preventative Care Services
• Minor Injuries (e.g., sprains, cuts, etc.)
• Chronic Condition Management
• Physicals and Sports Physicals
• Flu Shots
• Lab Testing
• Workers’ Compensation
• Immunizations
• Health Coaching
