Pack of Vote Stickers at Precinct

Election Day 2024 is coming up fast and Cabarrus County is helping voters stay aware of important dates and information leading up to November 5.

The County Board of Elections staff is in full voting season mode as absentee ballots were scheduled to begin mailing Friday (September 6) to voters that have already requested a mail-in ballot.

Amidst the heavy preparation efforts, the County’s Communications and Outreach department sat down with Board of Elections Director Carol Soles for the latest episode of Did Y’all Hear? A Cabarrus County Podcast.

In the episode, Soles talks about her journey to leading the elections department while also providing need-to-know info for the 2024 General Election, or as Soles calls it: the department’s Super Bowl.

Get to know Soles and her department at bit.ly/CabCoPodcast or find it on all major podcast providers.

You may change your name or address at any early voting site. Unregistered early voters enjoy a special provision that allows them to register on the day they vote. Registration is not available on Election Day.

Registered voters may request, receive and vote a mail-in absentee ballot. Visit www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail to learn more and request an absentee ballot by October 29 at 5 p.m.

Registering to vote

Outside of same-day registration at an early voting site, North Carolina offers two primary ways to register: online or in person at the DMV or by mail. Learn more at www.ncsbe.gov/registering/how-register.

Bring ID

North Carolina voters must show a photo ID when voting in-person and by mail. If a Cabarrus voter does not have an acceptable photo ID, they can get one free from the Board of Elections office (369 Church St. N, Concord). Visit www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id to learn more, including a rundown of acceptable photo IDs.
