Cabarrus Christmas and New Year’s Day closings

Cabarrus County Government offices, including the Government Center, Human Services Center, Veterans Services, animal shelter and the senior centers, will close from December 25 to 27 for Christmas, and on January 1 to observe New Year’s Day.

All County parks are closed December 24 and 25, and January 1.

All libraries will close from December 25 to 27. On Monday, January 1, all libraries will be closed in observance of New Year’s Day.

The Cabarrus County Landfill on Irish Potato Road will operate regular hours on Friday, December 22 (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and Saturday, December 23 (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.). The landfill will be closed Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26. The landfill portion of the facility will be closed on Wednesday, December 27, but residential trash, recycling and yard waste will be accepted during regular hours.

The landfill will be closed completely on Monday, January 1.

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility off Highway 49 is closed from December 24 to 26 and January 1. It is open on December 27. Collection events will take place on January 3 and 20.
