No tricks, just trunks and treats at EMS Headquarters

To help usher in spooky season, Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is gearing up for a night of Halloween treats.
EMS is hosting its inaugural Trunk-Or-Treat event on October 25 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the department’s headquarters (793 Cabarrus Ave W, Concord).
The event will feature a variety of vehicles decorated for the season. Those are the “trunks” that provide the “treats.” Inside, EMS will offer coloring stations in Auditorium A and a dance party in Auditorium B.
The first 300 attendees will receive a hot dog, chips and soda, sponsored by Honda Cars of Concord.
The participating “trunks” will vie for votes in the Best Decoration contest. Attendees can vote through 8 p.m., and the winner will be announced at 8:30 p.m.

EMS will also accept donations at the event for Hurricane Helene relief efforts in Western North Carolina.
Several members of the EMS team have been working in the mountains, assisting Buncombe County EMS with 911 and community paramedicine calls, performing welfare checks, delivering medications with the U.S. Postal Service and more.
If you can’t make the event, but would like to donate, the department is accepting donations daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at EMS Headquarters.
