To continue strengthening disaster preparedness and enhancing regional resilience, Cabarrus, Stanly and Union counties are inviting residents to participate in an upcoming Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting.

The meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, February 11 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The meeting will give community members the opportunity to help shape the future of the region’s preparedness and resilience strategies. The meeting will continue gathering insights and build on feedback collected in an anonymous survey distributed in March 2024. The survey explored the hazards threatening safety, property and the local economy.

Cabarrus County Emergency Management encourages all residents to attend, share their personal experiences and discuss potential actions to better prepare for and reduce the impact of hazards in the region.

Resident participation can help identify recurring risks and suggest mitigation strategies that will strengthen the resilience of our communities.
