The Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board serves to make recommendations to the Harrisburg Town Council about rezoning cases, major subdivisions and text amendments to the unified development ordinance. They also act as the Board of Adjustment, a quasi-judicial body, which hears variance cases, conditional use appeals and appeals regarding decisions of the zoning administrator.
The seven member board includes six members who reside within the Town of Harrisburg and are appointed by the Harrisburg Town Council, in addition to one member who resides within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Town of Harrisburg and is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
Appointments are for three-year terms.
Meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 pm in the Harrisburg Town Hall Council Chambers.
