The County Manager is appointed by and responsible to the Board of Commissioners, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Cabarrus County Government.

On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). The $1.9 trillion economic stimulus package aimed to help the country’s economy. The goal was to return to pre-COVID strength. Cabarrus County got awarded $42,043,458 of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). The money will provide support for households, small businesses and communities. Especially those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This ARPA OpenGov Dashboard provides a breakdown of each funding category. For the sake of transparency, this dashboard will be updated continuously. Updates will include key performance indicator data and additional program information.
The County’s Strategic Plan was adopted in December 2019. It provides guidance for the Board of Commissioners and County staff to work towards and meet the same goals and objectives as broken out into the following five priorities:
