The Board of Elections is the only statutory, bi-partisan, quasi-judicial, supervisory board in NC State government.
The local Board’s duties are imposed by law and include the making and issuing of rules, regulations and instructions, not inconsistent with law or the rules established by the State Board of Elections, as it deems necessary for the guidance of election officers and voters.
Board of Elections meetings are open to the public and are usually held on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 12:30 pm (when there is business) in the County Board of Elections Office (369 Church Street N, Concord).
Anyone wanting to speak at a Board of Elections meeting must notify the Board Director or Chair five days preceding the next scheduled meeting. However, if there is just reason why the speaker cannot meet the five-day deadline, the speaker may write the Board Chair for special approval, giving reason for the urgency and the subject matter.
