Commissioners set public hearing for Oct. 21
The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners set public hearings on an economic project.
The hearing will take place in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street SE, Concord.
The official notice reads:
Notice is hereby given that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as persons may be heard) on Monday, October 21, 2019, in the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street S, Concord, to consider an economic development investment for Project Sebastian pursuant to N.C. General Statute § 158-7.1. Project Sebastian proposes to locate at 8501 Westmoreland Dr NW (PIN: 46900638270000) in Concord with a projected investment of approximately $12,500,000 in real and personal property. There are 100 jobs associated with this project and they plan to create an additional 30-50 new positions. Average wages are above our current County average wage. A three-year grant equivalent to 85 percent of the ad valorem taxes on the increase in real and personal property tax values is requested. The proposed draft agreement is available for inspection in the Office of the Clerk to the Board at the Governmental Center.
