Through the Cabarrus Recovery Grant - Small Business Support Program, local businesses can apply for one-time support of up to $10,000 for COVID-19 related expenses.
Funding can be used for the following business-related expenses:
- Payroll and benefit costs
- Operating costs
- COVID-19 prevention/mitigation (e.g., physical barriers, cleaning, testing, etc.)
Eligible businesses must:
- Have a location within Cabarrus County that opened before January 1, 2020
- Operate as a for-profit agency
- Have an independent owner/operator
- Employ 50 or fewer workers
- Demonstrate loss of revenue due to COVID-19
- Must be in good standing with all federal, state, and local governments (taxes, etc.)
- Provide 2019 and 2020 Federal Tax Returns
- Meet County vendor onboarding requirements (the process takes place after the application is tentatively approved)
Previous COVID-19 assistance
Businesses that received COVID-19 related financial assistance (i.e., PPP) are eligible to apply for this funding; however, priority may be given to businesses that have not received such assistance.
Ineligible business categories
Ineligible businesses are contained in 13 CFR 120.110. These include, but are not limited to, non-profit businesses, financial businesses primarily engaged in lending, pyramid sale distribution plans, and political organizations. Please review the full list if you have questions regarding eligibility.
Cabarrus County Government has received your Recovery Grant – Small Business Support Program submission. Applications will be reviewed once the application period closes on Friday, October 15, 2021. Cabarrus County will provide next steps via email by the end of October. If you do not hear from Cabarrus County by the end of October, please email email@example.com to request additional information.
Community and employee crisis support
Through the Cabarrus County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), households with financial hardship due to COVID-19 can apply for payment of overdue rent and utilities dating back 12 months. Learn more and apply at erap.cabarruscounty.us OR request information for your employees by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
