This week, County and municipal leaders announced a Stay at Home Proclamation for Cabarrus County residents, effective March 26 at 5 pm. It is valid through April 16, 2020, but could be extended.
Today, Governor Cooper announced a very similar statewide Stay at Home Order.
Cabarrus County’s Stay at Home Proclamation puts in place an action model for our entire community. It focuses on self-isolation in our homes (or other place of residence) to slow the spread of COVID-19, as best as possible. There are exceptions for essential services and workplaces—one of which is Cabarrus County Government. It also limits mass gatherings to groups of 10 or fewer.
The proclamation was announced during a press conference at the Government Center on Wednesday.
